Dry mouth while running

Question
I am diabedic trying to cut some weight by running in a treadmill.

But I got dry mouth while running. The throat also dries up badly.

So, I have come up with trick to hold a mouthful of water for that half an hour that I am running. I keep swallowing a little bit of it from time to time. This helps me a lot.

Is this a good practice? My friend told me it may not be a healthy practice to keep swallowing water while running.

I run for 4 KMs at around 25 minutes now. I am increasing the speed and reducing the time taken. This method should help me cut some weight. Please let me know your thoughts.

Thank you very much for answering my question.

Answer
Hi Amir
That practice of holding water is totally not necessary, but can't hurt you.Your situation is a direct result of your diet and not properly hydrated. One thing is you need to hydrate little by little thru out the day and along with fine tuning your diet with well balance choices with lots of salads and vegies. It takes time to adapt to change, but it is very necessary especially as a diabedic. If you have any questions as you work with those things along the way just get in touch Amir.

All the best

John
