thinking about running

Dear John,

Hello I am a 23 year old female and I would like to take up running but I don't have a clue where to start.

Recently I decided I was getting a bit out of shape so I overhauled my diet and started exercising more regularly. I lost 2 stone steadily over a 3 month period and feel much fitter and healtier.

Now I am ready for a new challenge!

I am not one of natures runners- it's something I've hated since I was a kid and it would be a real achievment for me if I could do it.

Sadly my aunt died as a result of cancer this year and I would really like to run a charity 5K to raise money for a cancer charity.

At the moment I go swimming for an hour, twice a week and I
walk for at least 30mins daily.
I don't see myself as being particularly fit and know I would need to build up graudually. But how!!!

Also what kind of equipment would I need?

I'd be so grateful for any help :)

PS..You need no equipment,just walk out the door and gradually work into it.It is that simple Hollie.A good pair of running shoes that feel comfortable is the only thing you need.
