Swollen Knees

Question
Hi John, I am 45 years old, 230 lbs and 5'8". I have started working out 3 to 4 days weekly. I walk treadmill, Zumba, Boot Camp Class and Yoga. However, when I workout with Zumba or Boot Camp, my knees swell up, especially the right knee. I do not have any surgeries or never hurt my knees. They seem to lock up and pop real loud often. What do you recommend? Thank you, Nora

Answer
Hi Nora
I recommend you stop the zumba and start with some up right stationary bike workouts with med tension increasing it as you get stronger with med to higher rpm rev. This is a fantastic workout for the knee's guads heart and corrects tracking and alignment.I would do it as often as you can.You can also add 500mg vit c with your 3 meals a day to enhance recovery of tendons ligaments collagen. The extra weight you have is putting a very large strain on your knee's and the rest of the muscular skeleton system.Just really focus on that hard.Any questions just get in touch.

All the best

John
