Sore Knee

Question
Hi,

I wonder if you can help. I recently had an OP on my knee, and got the cartillage cleaned out behind the knee cap. All went well and am fully recovered.
I started training again but as soon as I started running downhill I have to stop in my tracks as I get a sharp pain in the muscle directly behind the knee, it swells up and goes red for a while.
It seems to only happen on downhill stretches, can you offer any advice

Thanks,
Sean

Answer
Hi Sean
It would be hard for me to guess with the little description,so what i recommend is go to google and put rectus femoris in for picures and descriptions. That is the muscle you are referring  to Sean. That should give you some ideas to your situation.

All the best

John
