Understanding Muscle Changes from Increased Running
Question
Hello,
I抳e always been a casual (5-8mi/day) jogger. Over the winter, I started running about 7 miles a day on various inclines, and my leg muscles became rather large (as you might imagine). I took some time off to get the muscles to go down in size, because they were too bulky for someone who only runs as a stress release, but now every time I run, even with no incline, my muscles seem to pop (whereas before my incline-running period they used to get longer and leaner). Do you have any suggestions? I would like to continue running long distances, but the new bulky aspect is frustrating. Is it my diet? Is it possible I抦 eating too much protein? Or am I not running fast enough to activate the right type of muscle fibers? Any input would be appreciated.
Answer
Hi Lisa
Your body was a gift from god,and everybody's is different. Some people never build bulky muscles.Your diet could make a little difference, but really don't stress out.Be thankfull. When you exercise over time you will develop and become more muscular. This is just the way it is.
The very best
