Can I Run After Back Surgery & Osteopenia? Expert Advice

I had started running daily long distances from my young teens and had back surgery (fused L4& L5) in my twenties. I'm now in my late 30's, can I start running again. Could I hurt my back again? I was also told I have degenerative althritis & osteopenia.
