X-Smoker trying to jog

I am joining the National Guard October 19th and shipping to S.C. I stopped smoking 19days ago and started brisk walking and trying to jog. I can brisk walk 1mile in 14mins.........not very good I can jog 1/2 mile in 5mins and then I feel like an elephant is sitting on me. In 4weeks I have to be able to jog/run 1mile in 10.30mins, in 9weeks I have to be able to jog/run 2miles in 19.30mins. How can I accomplish my goals? I have been doing this faithfully everyday since I stopped smoking, and I still cannot jog past a 1/2 mile.

SHOULD OF QUIT LONG AGO AND GOT THE LUNGS CLEANED OUT AND AIRED OUT TO WORK HARD IT DOES TAKE TIME TO GET THIS DEADLY DRUG OUT OF YOUR SYSTEM ALOT LONGER THAN U HAVE GIVEN YOURSELF.  THEY SAY IT IS HARDER TO KICK THAN HERION, I DO NOT KNOW SINCE I HAVE NEVER LIT UP IN MY  66 YRS.
WHAT I SUGGEST IS SOME WEIGHT LIFTING, BE IN CANS AT HOME IN EACH HAND, OR BUY SOME AT WAL MARTS AND MAKE UP A ROUTINE OF LIFTING WHILE JOGGING IN PLACE, WALKING IN PLACE, DO JUMPING JACKS, TRY FOR 100 A NIGHT.  I DID THIS IN KARATE EASILY, DO PUNCHES, KICKS HIGH AS U CAN, MAKE UP YOUR OWN ROUTINE TO MUSIC TO INSPIRE YOU TO WORK, DO SIT UP, CRUNCHES, ETC.
NOW, HOW ABOUT POWER WALKING, TAKE STEPS LARGE AS U CAN AS FAST AS U CAN. MY DAUGHTER IS 45 AND SHE DOES 4 MILE EVERY MORNING OR SHE FEELS SHE CHEATED HER BODY AND MIND.  SHE SWINGS HER ARMS HEAD UP AND FLIES, SHE IS A SIZE 5 AND EATS WHAT SHE WANTS, BUT SHE WORK ALL 7 DAYS.
SHE ALSO LIFTS AND RUNS THE TREADMILL, SHE IS ADDICTED TO EXERCISE, WISH I HAD BEEN SOME YEARS BACK NOW AT 66 IT IS TOO LATE, BUT SHE HAS NO SIGNS OF ARTHRITIS LIKE I AM CRIPPLED WITH, NOR HEART DISEASE THAT RUNS RAMPID IN OUR FAMILY.
TRY WITH GOOD TENNIS SHOES AT BEST AND WALK AND WALK...POWER WALK EVERY DAY, DO NOT WORRY ABOUT TIME, JUST SET GOALS TO HOW MUCH U FEEL U MUCH REACH AND TRY AND REACH THEM.  START OUT HARD AS U CAN BUT LESS, THEN WORK UP TO MILEAGE.  GO FOR IT GIRL YOU CAN DO IT AND THIS IS THE BEST WAY I FEEL U CAN WORK TO GET FIT, RATHER THAN JOG AND RUN NOW.  IT IS SO HARD ON JOINTS, FACIAL MUSCLES, ETC.  THIS WILL SAVE UNTIL U HAVE TO DO IT AND DO WARM UPS AND COOL DOWNS FOR SURE.  SWEAT HARD.  TAKE A COLD SHOWER AND RELAX THEN DO A ROUTINE AT NIGHT AT HOME IN YOUR PRIVATE HOME.  IT DOES TAKE ALOT OF WORK TO GET FIT AS A FIDDLE, BUT IT CAN BE DONE WITH DETERMINATION AND YOU  HAVE IT.  I AM HERE FOR YOU ANYTIME U NEED ME.
