Tibet Travel Advice for Non-Locals: A Beginner's Guide
Question
Hey there gandharv
I am a Kiwi in china hoping to head to tibet for a bit of an explore ( not to adventurous) and was hoping to ask if you had any advice for me . I am 21 and of sound physical health. Is there any rule and the ascent rate for a none local?
Cheers Pawl
Answer
Hi Pawl,
its good to know that you are enjoying yourself in the mountains. well, if you arent planning to attempt any technical ascent, i doint think i have anything to advice you on. however, keep certain things in mind. one, the nepal and indian himalayas are quite deceptive. second, select you guides, if you are planning to take any, very carefully.
carry water purifying tablets if you can, though not many do. don't rush to heights if you havent been to the levels before. enjoy yourself and let your body decide what it can take.
do let me know if there is anything specific i can answer for you.
you can also reach me at gandharv_vasudev@hotmail.com
take care
all the best
gandharv.
