Question
What is Military diving like?

Answer
That is a hard question to quantify.

Military diving is some of the best technical training (physics, medicine, physiology, diving technology, tools, explosives) available having been refined over the last 80 years.

Day to day operations require a lot of maintenance on various diving systems, the split between performing the mission of diving in the military to doing the maintenance required on the extensive equipment required to support remote diving operations Icahn be as high as 80% maintenance to 20% diving during peace time.

While deployed or on a diving project that ratio switches to 90% diving operations to 10% maintenance.

Various tastings from infrastructure inspection and repairs to salvage operations are conducted utilizing large self supporting teams.

Diving units are designed to be self supporting and self sufficient creating very tight bonds amongst the workers. Some of my best friends to this day are the divers I served with 20 years ago.
