PADI in Cuba

2016/7/22 10:35:40

Question
Help! I've just read your answer to the question from Michael re PADI in
Cuba, but am still a bit confused. I'm signed up to do a PADI open water
referral course (pool and theory) this weekend in the UK before heading to
Cuba at the end of November where my plan is/was to get PADI qualified.
Now I know there are no official PADI dive schools in Cuba but is there any
way at all that a diving instructor out there could help me finish my open
water qualification? And if so where do I find them? I imagine they wouldn't
exactly advertise this but maybe someone would do it? SUrely there are
instructors out there from overseas who trained in PADI. ANy help on this
would be much appreciated. Gracias.

Answer
Greetings Louise,

As you know, there's an economic embargo in Cuba which limits what foreigners are entitled to carry out in Cuba per se.

You may check with the local hotels. If the service is provided, they would easily point you to the right direction.

I hope this helps you. Good luck in your plans.

Sincerely,

Gustavo E. Flores
