Question
Have you ever heard of an agency called SDA (Scuba Diving Agency)?  I recently completed an online course, and the instructor said this was the agency I would get certified through.  I want to make sure this is a credible agency.

Answer
Hi Allison

First, let me aologize for the delay in getting back to you.  I'm currently out of town undergoing cancer treatment (it's going very well) but I don't have access to a computer to check e-mail.

Scuba Diving Agency (SDA) is not recognized by any of the dozen or so scuba diving training agencies.  I tried to research SDA but without luck.  There are some similar sounding acronyms like SSI (Scuba Schools International) and SDI (Scuba Diving International) so it's possible that you may be receiving your certification through one of them.

I wish I could give you more information but that's all I could come up with at this point.

If it's not too late, I'd suggest signing up with one of the internationally known organizations like PADI, SSI, NAUI or YMCA.

Best of luck and I apologize for getting back to you so late.
