Mr. Gage,

I have a German made 38 special derringer with the Rising Phoenix / N mark along with the number 64 followed by some sort of mark that I cannot identify.  The number 22492  is also clearly visible on the gun.  Would appreciate any info you might have on this well made weapon.  See attached photos, Thanks, Doc

Answer
Hello Doc.
Thank you very much for the pictures. They are invaluable when identifying firearms. The manufacturer of your derringer was ROHM located in Sontheim an der Brenz, Germany. It was  imported for sub-contractors in the US (RG, Zephyr, among others).  They were available from the late 60's to 70's. Is it possible your Rising Phoenix is a Zephyr? Whatever the case, it is of German manufacture. For safety reasons, use lead nose cartridges and 'never' Plus+P loads.
I hope this helps with your identifying your derringer, and thank you for asking for me. Charles Gage
