Question
I don't have a lot of specific information this morning, but suddenly I want to learn all I cnn about the history of at least the model of .410 ga. shotgun I own.  It is a Hawthorne brand, .410 ga. bolt action with a 3 round magazine and wooden stock.  I don't know how old it is, since it was a gift from my older brother, and he may have gotten it from our great aunt after her first husband passed away.  What can you tell me or where can you direct me for more information?

Answer
Hawthorne was the trade name used by Mossberg at the time. These guns were sold exclusivley to Montgomery Wards stores. I don't any knowledge of the dates that it could have been made, but you could contact Mossberg and ask them for help if it is important. These guns have a value of around 75-150 dollars depending on the condition.

Best of Luck!
