Where can I go in eastern NC

2016/7/22 9:06:50

Question
.I am in possession of 3 Smith and Wesson 22 caliber semi automatic "ladies handguns" that were designed by my late Father in law, L.R. Wallack Jr. Bob as he was know was a prolific writer and wrote numerous books and magazine articles on firearms. All the major firearms manufactures would send him their latest guns to be evaluated and Bob would use them and write about them in all the major periodicals of his day.

These guns were never produced for selling at retail. They are prototypes and I was told less than 25 were manufactured. They are circa 1960, all working and able to fire. The hold a clip of 9.

Where can I bring them to be appraised? I have been told that they are worth over $100,000 for the set with serial numbers 6, 7 and 8.

Answer
These are probably worth something significant, but only to the right buyer. If you bring them to a gun shop you won't get for them what they are worth (and they won't sell them for much - someone will either end up with they know not what, or someone will get a fantastic deal).

I'd recommend contacting S&W directly to see what they are worth, or taking them to an auction house that appraises firearms.
