Question
I have a Harrington and Richardson single shot 12 GA. 088 model my Dad gave me when he passed.  I want to do do some sporting clays shooting. Is this a suitable gun and if not what should I buy?

Thanks

Answer
In sporting clays, there are some doubles, where two birds are thrown. That means that you need at least two shots loaded. Some people use pump or autoloading shotguns, but the most popular by far for this purpose is an over/under (double barrel) shotgun, 12 gauge. The least expensive model that I know is sold by Dick's sporting goods as the STF3000 by Stoeger. I have one, and this is a good gun. They often have it on sale with $50 off. Other O/U shotgun models would also be OK.  You could use a side by side instead (i.e. like Elmer Fudd), but that is not popular.

Hope this helps!

Dave
