Interestingly enough, US Revolver Company firearms was made by Iver Johnson from 1910 until 1935. The number 97957 puts the year at around 1919, give or take a year, although the number is NOT a serial number, it is more like a batch or order number. Serial numbers were not required by law nor common practice until 1968 when the gun control act was passed. By all accounts, Iver Johnson sold their "budget" line of revolvers under the name US Revolver Company and basically made a cheap imitation of their top break revolvers.
