Question
I have inherited an 1881 US Navy (stamped) issue 45-70 carbine in VG firing condition. First, I know nothing about these firearms dating to that time. and second, could this be authentic. Third, could you put a ballpark figure on it's worth and should I donate it to a local museum.

Answer
Hello Randy. I need more information. If it is original, it should have a serial number. It should also have numbers or other stampings on the stock. As far as a value, it too, would need these same features. If you want to donate it to a museum, that is your call. Get back with me and we can go from there. Charles Gage

Hello Randy. I'm not sure what is going on either. Please send all your information to my personal gmail address. I will get you the information that way. [email protected]
