Question

fox 16 gauge shot gun
My wife received a Fox Model B 16 gauge double barrel shot gun with 26" barrels & 2 3/4" chambers from her brother.  She is wanting to know the value and the age of this gun.  This gun is in excellent condition. It was made by the Savage Arms Corporation.  Thanks

Answer
Paul,

The Fox Model B shotguns were made by Savage between 1940 and 1986.  There is no way to tell the exact age without a serial number.  In terms of value, a shotgun of this type in 98% condition is worth approximately $400.  In 90% condition, you are probably looking at $300.  Without actually examining the gun, it is impossible to grade the condition.

That's about the best I can do based on the information provided...

Best regards,

Doug
