Question
The rifle mentioned has octagon barrel. Lever takedown. Belonged to my Gr Grandfather when he was a boy (circa 1905). Any info about this model would be appreciated.

Hello Gerald.The Remington No.4 Boys Rifle was manufactured between 1890 and 1933. Your model was manufactured between 1902 and 1921. During this time the No.4 was manufactured with the .25 Stevens Rimfire cartridge(marked 25-10). It also had an octagon barrel with a side lever takedown. The barrel length was 22" or 24".I have seen these in good condition bring from $150.00 to over $300.00 in open auction.I hope this answers your question and thank you for asking for me.Charles Gage
