Browning Safari

2016/7/22 9:15:13

Question
Jim- I bought a Browning Safari new in the box in the late 60's. It is Belgium made in .270 cal. and the serial is  5L 29036. It has never been fired and is like new in all respects. I mounted a Leupold scope on it but never sighted it in. I have the booklet but not the box. I am interested in its value for resale. Thanks so much.

Answer
Robert,

I just bought a Safari Grade .270 Like New in the Box condition (no box), at the Tulsa Arms show two weeks ago. I paid $1100 for the rifle and $20 for the manual. The market on this stuff has suffered due to the economic issues we are facing today. As a collector, I am always interested in adding to my collection. Should you decide to sell let me know. A dealer is going to offer 25-30% less than a collector. Give me a call and I will try to assist you further (417-830-5588). Thanks.

Jim
