Question
hi i just recently been given few guns from my grandfather an he got it from his grandfather and i was just wondering if you could tell me the manufacturing date and approximate value.  on the left side above the trigger it says ( Model 48 Topper  H&R arms co.ltd  drummondville P.Q. Canada ) on the top of the barrel it says proof tested-12 GA choked.  behind the trigger there is a number 28995. and when you take the gun apart on the bottom of the barrel it says that same number again 28995.

Answer
Hello Kyle. An H&R Model 48 Topper is valued approximately $150.00 in very good condition. As far as dating it, the Topper model 48 began production in 1946. I have never read about Harrington & Richardson manufacturing any firearms out side of the United States, nor have I been able to turn up any reference of it. I hope this answers your question and thank you for asking for me. Charles Gage
