Kahr PM9 Trouble

2016/7/22 9:13:33

Question
I may have a real problem. My son removed the slide stop from my PM9 and something's wrong. The slide will not come off (or move at all) and I can't get the slide stop back in place either. any ideas?

Answer
Without seeing the gun, it is impossible for me to diagnose the problem with any certainty.

First, make sure the magazine is out of the gun (on some guns, the slide cannot come off as long as the magazine is in place.

second, It is possible that when the slide-stop was removed the barrel dropped down slightly and wedged against the frame and the slide. Try turning the gun upside down to retract the slide. Because the barrel has such little mass, if this does not work, you might try inserting a dowel through the muzzle and levering the barrel to push it back into the ejection port (while holding it upside down) and retracting the slide that way.

Without seeing the gun, that's about all I can suggest.

It goes without saying, instruct your son that the slide stop is not to be taken out without the slide retracted to the rear.

Good luck.
