value of a fire arm

Question
What is the value of a Remington 22 riffle with the date of Oct. 24, 1916. Browning patten Model 24

Answer
Hello Karen. Value depends on the Condition and Grade. In NRA Good condition, the Standard Model 24 would have a value around $150.00. The condition is about 60%. In top 100% As New, value around $400.00-$450.00. The firearm you refer to was manufactured between 1922-1935 with approximately 131,000 rifles. The serial number range is #1- 131,000+. There were also several patent dates and grades from A=Standard through F=Premier. This, too, has a great deal to do with value. A good rule of thumb is to add 10% to grade B; 20% to C; 40% to D; 60% to E; and 120% to Grade F. I hope this answers your question and thank you for asking for me. Charles Gage
