Gun sold by Hawes Firearms Co. On other side is stamped this: H.Schmidt  Ostheim/Rhoen   West Germany  Question: when was this made,etc.

Hawes was an importer of inexpensive versions of single and double action revolvers in the 1960s.  They imported a variety of manufacturers, most notably J. P. Sauer.  Your gun was probably manufactured during that period.  There are no records specific to H. Schmidt.
