Question
i recently inherited a browning rifle, its 22 250, says made in finland , has lovely woodstock, blued barrel, silver colored bolt, ser 435625, there are no letters in serial, light etching on trigger guard  , also says browning arms 22 250 only, i like the rifle   what is it?  thanks  john

Answer
John,

Double check the serial number on your rifle. I suspect the "2" you reference is really the letter "Z". Assuming there is no engraving on the receiver, you have a Safari Grade Browning Rifle made in 1965. The "5" after what I believe is the letter "Z" in the serial number tells us that the rifle was made in 1965. They made two different barrel weights, one in a pencil barrel and heavy barrel. Hope this helps. Give me a call and I can try to answer more of your questions. Hope this helps. Thanks.
