Eastern Arms, model 105-7

Question
Doug, I saw a similar question/answer recently and have a similar question.  I have a Eastern Arms, model 105-7, shotgun 16 gage...it was probably bought around 1950's from (thought to be Montgomery Ward).  Does it have any value to speak about?  Seems to be in good shape.
James

Answer
James,

Eastern Arms was a house brand of Sears & Roebuck in the 1950s.  The gun could have been manufactured by a number of different suppliers.  Between the 40s and late 50s, Iver Johnson and Stevens were the manufacturers producing the largest number of 'house brand' shotguns and rifles.  Montgomery Ward used the 'Western Field' name on the ones they sold.

These shotguns were inexpensive, utilitarian shotguns when they were produced and as such have very little in the way of value as a 'collectable'.  If it is good condition and shootable, it might have a value ranging from $75 to $150.  Certainly not much more unless it is in 'brand new' condition in which case it could be worth up to $250.

If it has any sentimental value at all, you probably would just want to keep it.  Otherwise, you can expect something in the range above depending on the exact condition.  I'd need to see detailed photos to even begin to grade the condition of the gun.

Hope this helps you out.

Regards,

Doug
