Question
I don't see alot of information on the 1891 Mauser, I have one that has all matching ser# on it, I don't see a crest on it, I am trying to find out the proper bullet to shoot in it,I know it's not a 7.65 NATO round and a 7.62 is to small, any help would be appreciated

Answer
Roy,

Based on what I am seeing on a website called "Surplus Rifles" the 1891 Mauser is chambered in 7.65x53mm

The info on this site is pretty complete...the site is:

http://www.surplusrifle.com/argentine1891/index.asp

I found the ammo at this website:

http://www.gunsamerica.com/guns/976614340.htm

Hope this helps you out...

Doug
