re: shock-buff

Question
Hi, Just want to know if you can recommend me to put a shok-buff on my m1911 rock island commander size pistol?
Thanks
Rickie

Answer
Any of the standard shock-buffs would work. I'm most familiar with the ones by Wilson Combat. You want to check and make sure the gun functions properly with it (installing one shortens the travel of the slide by the thickness of the buffer).

When done at the range, I would remove it. Unless the gun was designed with one (the HKs are), I would use it for the range and competition only to increase the life of the frame. I would strongly recommend having in the gun when/if it is kept for self defense.
