gun serial numbers

I have two military handguns,one I have owned for 25 yrs,the other handed down when father passed away has been in family as long as I can remember. How do I run serial search,and if I do,can weapons be taken from me just from search results.

There is no serial number database.  There are limited records of serial number information on some guns from some of the larger manufacturers.  Since there is no database, you certainly have nothing to worry about in terms of someone seizing your guns...

If you would like to provide me with the manufacturer and model name/number of the guns you have I'd be happy to try and give you a little more background on them...
