remington sendero rifle

Question
Dear Sir,
I am consideriing buying a Remington Sendero rifle in 7mm mag. I   will be using this rifle primarily for deer hunting and possibly elk. My question is, What kind of accuracy can I expect from this rifle. How much tweeking or tuning will  have to be done for it to be accurate out to 400 yards. Also could you advise as to the best factory load ammo to use.

Thank You,
Rick Baker

Answer
Mr. Baker,

Remington bills that rifle as their most accurate off-the-shelf rifle. I would expect it to have under minute-of-angle accuracy.

That should mean under 4" at 400 yards - plenty accurate for elk.

If you get any of the premium expanding ammo, it should work well.  Once you determine what weight projectile you want to use, I'd get a box of whatever looks interesting to you (say 3 or 4 different types of ammunition that has a proven record) and try each for accuracy.  I'd then go with the most accurate of those for your hunt.  Good luck to you on it.
