Question
I have a 1911 serial number 15080 that I inherited from my grandmother. Can you tell me what it might be worth. I also received a 1912 with serial number 79916 that I would like to know the value of.

Answer
Hi Dustin,

The Model 1911 came in two models. 1911 Plain and Fancy. The difference is that the Fancy had a fancy birch laminated stock. The Plain had a plain birch laminated pistol grip stock and forend. The manufacture of the 1911 was discontinued in 1925 with about 83,000 sold.

The Plain in "good" condition has a retail value of $300 and the Fancy in "good" condition $400.

The Model 12 in question was made in  1914. It was available in many different combinations of gauges, barrel lengths, stocks, ribs. etc. All of these will effect value. If your M12 is a Standard Grade and in "good" condition, it would have a retail value of between $300 and $400. Keep in mind this could be more or less depending upon the above listed variables.

Thanks for the question Dustin.
