s&w 357 magnum

My Father inlaw gave me a S&W 357magnum 6 inch barrel.The gun is like new only numbers are s159113 .  help please   thanks Denis

Can you please provide me with additional information?

Based upon the info that you have provided, there are many options for answers. If you could check the revolver over again (perhaps inside the the frame with the cyl. open) and give me a model number, I can help you further.

If not, I'd recommend that you contact S&W. They can (for a small fee) research the gun, and provide you with a letter covering the entire history of the gun for you.

I personally do not have access to every serial number history to the point of being able to fully cover the range of your question based upon the number only.

If you can provide the additional info, I'll give it try and/or consider the suggestion of getting a letter from Smith.
