Mark X action fires during extraction.

Question
I have a mark X mauser action that I have made into a 308 target rifle. Every now and then, not always, the action fires when extracting an unfired bullet. This happens unexpectantly while raising the bolt handle its first 1/4 to 1/2 inch, BANG! the firing pin slams forward, not a good thing. This can happen while the safety is on or not. I have another mark X and hve no problems with it. Help please.

Answer
I believe the problem is your trigger is adjusted to light, and the sear is moving out of engagement just a hair whan you lift the bolt-handle causing it to fire. Very dangerous situation! If the trigger is adjustable make it heavier. If it is the result of a trigger job and metal was removed, replace the trigger. Thanks.
