history on 22 long rifel

Question
dear Paul
I recently inherited a 22 long rifle. I was told it is early 1900's but i don't know. the only marking i can find on the rifle are "SPRINGFIELD J. Stevens arms company Chicopee Falls, Mass. U.S.A. MODEL 85 A" on the top of the barrel and "CAL. 22 LONG RIFLE SMOKELESS GREASED ONLY" on the left side of the barrel and "4" at the base of the barrel before the chamber. There is also a patent number I just noticed in small letters along the right side of the sight i believe it says "patent 2094577 others pending". Is there anyway to find anything out about the rifle. Any information you can provide would be helpful.
Thank you,
Jaron
