I own a Belgium browing 243 pencil barrel bolt action rifle.
#L2236.
When was it made & what grade--also what is the name placed on this rifle.

Hello Robert. I was not able to find any serial numbers as your #L2236. Most likely your gun is a Browning FN High-power Bolt Action Model Safari Grade. These were manufactured from 1959 thru 1974. If your rifle has the small-ring Mauser action, it is definitely early 1960's prior to the Sako action.
