Identifying Your Stevens 12 Gauge Single Barrel Shotgun: Model & Age
Question
I recently aquired a Stevens 12g single barrel shotgun. It says 12g on the barrel and thats it. It says Jstevens Arms Company on the left side of the gun. The right side of the gun says Trademark stevens Reg Us pat off & fgn. there is also a small number 1 in a circle on the top of that side of the gun as well. Can you tell me what size shell it would take and the approximate age of the gun?
Answer
Hi Eric.
I can't identify your gun for sure without more info or seeing it in person but it is probably a standard 12 gauge shotgun. You will need to find the serial number to identify the age and you might only be able to find a range of years since some manufacturers did not keep precise records or the records were lost.
