Identifying and Restoring a Mauser 1904 Rifle: A Guide

Mr. Zukowski,
My husband was given a rifle that is in bad shape.  It has the inscription of fabrica de armas oviedo 1904.  We would like to know what the calliper is who we could contact for a replacement stock. Is there any value to this rifle once it is refurbished?

Its a Mauser 1904 pattern made under contract in Spain at Fabrica de Armas Oviedo. Interms of caliber without seeing it I am I really can't say. Many of these have re-barreled over the years. Plus you need to know what nation it was made for.
You need to have a gunsmith look at it.

Mausers are plentifull and not particularly valuable unless its
in near perfect condition. It will be worth a few hundred dollars once repaired. There is collectors interest in Mauser rifles.
