Ranger 22 M34 Rifle: History, Manufacturer & Value

Question
I bought a .22 cal. rifle from a flea-market.It has the markings RANGER 22 S-L-LR on the barrel with Made in USA below it.And it is a bolt-action.Can You tell me anything about it?

Answer
Lestat,

"Ranger" was a trade-name of Sears Roebuck and Co. of Chicago used on firearms made for them by various manufactures.

The Ranger model 34 was manufactured by the Marlin Firearms Co. who produced many bolt action rifles over the years. These rifles were designed to of utility grade and inexpensive and have little collectors value as they were marketed to many of the large chain store outlets.

The Ranger model 34 was manufactured from 1935 to 1937 and if in "good" condition would have an approximate retail value of $75.

I hope this helps Lestat and thank you for the question.
