Hercules Montgomery Ward 16 GA Shotgun (1929) - History & Value
Question
I recently got a 16 GA. single shot. Stamped on the gun is Hercules
MONTGOMERY WARD & CO. 1929 MODEL what can you tell me about this
gun?
Answer
Jayme,
"Hercules" was a trade name used by the Iver Johnson Co. on inexpensive shotguns made for the Montgomery Ward Co. They were manufactured until the mid 1950's and were originally blued with a walnut stock and made in a variety of gauges.
If in "good" condition it would have an approximate retail value of $75.
Thanks for the question Jayme, I hope this helps.
