Question
rifle has no modle or serial numbers but lists pation # from 05 to 1917 clip is marke d savage arms 23-a sporter or nra match rifle this rifle looks like a military trainer what do you think it is and what it is worth

Answer
Jerry,

The Savage 23A was a .22LR that was introduced in 1923. It had a 5 round clip and a 23" round barrel and featured open sights. A unique feature of the 23A was its extra large loading port which makes for very easy single round (training) loading. The stock was plain pistol grip style with a schnable forend. This rifle was produced until 1933.

If in "good" condition the rifle would have an approximate retail value of $150.

Thank you for the question Jerry.
