A. V. MAROCCIUI O/U 12 Ga, 12/3

Question
QUESTION: I just acquired this gun.  It has the following letters/numbers under the
forward hand grip:  KGI.410  18.4 and CAM 76 18.4 (I think this is correct).  I
would like to know a little about it; approximately when it was made and its
approximate value.  It is in excellent condition and appears to be a finely
crafted gun.  Also, is it possible to acquire a manual for it?  What do you
know about FIE in Miami,  FL?

         Thanks,      Lou

ANSWER: The Manufacturer can provide a manual.

In terms of history I need to know the model name to
look it up.

The Field Master was fairly cheap worth $150 to $400
depending on model and condition.
The Conquista series were higher end guns.
Prices on them new run $1800 to $5000.
Used they run $850 to $1500
The model 99 being the most espensive.

FIE in Miami,  FL was a firearms importer and distributor.
Most of the imports were cheap guns.
However they did import Franchi and a couple of other
high end models. They went out of business in 1990

---------- FOLLOW-UP ----------

QUESTION: Dear Mr. Zakowski,

The above answer speaks of "Marocchi" Arms as the manufacturer.  I read in
one of the forum discussions that "Marocchi" and "Marocciui" were two
distinctly different fire arms companies.  Are you saying that the "marocciui"
guns were made by the "Marochi" Company?  OR, are you indicating possibly
that the Marochi Company is now the contact point for both guns?

I have thoroughly examined my Marocciui piece and I cannot find any model
name.  Upon removal of the forward grip, there is a number "R93407" and the
letters "AP" inside a rectangle stamped opposite the R93407 number.  So,
unless the model is tied to a serial number or letter designations, then the
only way I could determine its model would be to compare mine with a
picture of a known Marocciui model.  As I mentioned before the only other
designations that I could find are:  "KG1.410" (the period being very faint; so
it could be "KG1410")  and next to that is either "18.4"  or "184" (the period
here is also very faint).

I have also thoroughly examined the A V Marocciui name again with a big
magnifying glass to confirm the name, in script.   I am 99% sure that it is
Marocciui.  The only thing that I don't see is a "dot" over the first "i".  I am
positive, however, that there is no "h" there because ALL of the letters are
exactly the same hight as in "iui".

I appreciated your fast responce and I hope I haven't "rattled" on too long
trying to describe all of the markings on my gun..  Hope you can help me.

Thanks again, so much.
