Ithaca M-49 Value & History: A Detailed Overview

Question
I have a Ithica modle M-49 and I would like to know how much it is worth and also is a historic gun

Answer
Hi Shadow,

The Ithaca Model 49 was manufactured from 1961 to 1979 as a lever action both in single shot and a "repeater". It was sold in 22LR and the 49R had a tubular feed mag that held 15 rounds. It had a hardwood stock, alloy receiver, and fixed sights.

There were several versions, the Saddlegun, Saddlegun Delux Grade, Saddlegun Presentation Grade, and the 49R. I'm not sure which model that you have so the retail values are as follows:

Model 49 Saddlegun in "Good" condition $100

"                 " Presentation Grade, in "Good" condition $200

"                  " 49R in "Good" condition $150

The most any of the versions retails at in good condition is $200. Keep in mind that this is average retail (not a quote) in good condition. There are three condition levels above "good" but since I cannot grade your rifle, I am using the middle mark for value. It could be worth more or less depending upon overall condition.

Thanks for the question.
