Bayard shotgun

Question
I have recently acquired what appears to be a 12ga SxS double shot gun that has under the hand guard the date of Pat. 1892. It also says Belgium. I would like to know the approximate value (hard to do without seeing it) based on % or just as a collector general item. There is still some case hardneing on the side plates when the external hammers are removed.  a 12ga modern shell fits easily into the chambers. I haven't tried to fit any full brass casing into it. I do not think it is a twist barrel. I don't think this is a 14ga. Can you tell me the chamber diameter of a 14 ga. so that I can definitely rule this out?

Answer
I do not have chamber dementions for 14 gauge.
Its long obsolete.
This web site has it
http://website.lineone.net/~dave.cushman/shotshellloads.html
The easist way to determine is by bore diameter.
Not chamber diameter. 14 gauge was .693
Also remember to check the chamber depth.
Early 12 gauges had 2 1/2 inch chamber.
The 2 3/4 inch will fit into some, till it needs to open at firing.

My money is it being a 12 gauge.
By 1892 14 was a dead gauge.

I do not have them in my reference price guide material as to value. This Auction likily has it because they have a similar gun going up for auction.right now.
