Preventing Rust on Air Rifles Near the Ocean: Expert Advice

Hi Dave,

I just got a new air rifle. I live near the ocean. What can I use to prevent it from rusting. A friend of mine has one and it is all pitted and rusted. Can I use W D 40?

That is a very difficult problem.  WD40 will not work as well as a gun oil.  You can get a small bottle or tube of gun oil at Walmart or K mart or a gun store.  You'll need to oil it every week if you want to prevent rust at the beach.  Use a soft cloth to apply the oil.
