Answer
Ahh, I feel you completely. I have the same problem. When I first started, it was horrible. I was afraid of EVERYTHING on a skateboard. For over two years it hardly got better, but now, after almost seven years, I've gained a lot of confidence and my fears have subsided a little. Only, I'm still a big wuss when it comes to skating big stuff. What I can tell you is it's all about confidence. If you "feel it," do it, and push away all fear. Looking at it seriously, you're not going to get hurt kickflipping off a curb, dude. I like to think that people get hurt on skateboards two ways: stupidity (trying something you aren't ready for) and accidents (they happen; just like when you're walking and trip down a stairwell). Also, you've got to make the choice that you want to be a skater. There's no room for fear in a skater's mind, remember that. Make the choices, and keep trying. Good luck.
