Protective Gear..

Im have just bought a pair of PIC-Skates (artistic inline skates resembling figure skates), and I will be doing different spins, jumps, footwork and "moves in the field", training outdoors..

Im wondering what protective gear to buy..
I need gear of high quality and durability, gear which will not restrain any movement, and preferably gear which also is a liittle bit girly (= neat lean appearance, not bulky)..

Do you know any brand/product names which sells more "girly" and "feminine" protective gear (different colours, guards and padding that are neat and lean looking instead of bulky), but which also has high quality and good money value..?

I`ve been looking at helmets and guards/pads from Triple 8, K2 and ProTec.. Are these good reliable brands with good quality..?

If I cant afford the protective equipment all at once; what is the most important gear I should buy first (helmet and wrist guards)..?


I`d really appreciate if you could answer these questions and give me some advice, cuz I live in another country, in an area where they dont sell pro gear, and I have no one else to ask, but I want to make sure I get the appropriate gear, with high quality..

Hi Angelica,
 I wish I could help you but I'm not that familiar with all the safety equipment so it would be hard to compare one against another.

I think your best bet is to look online to find what you like.  K2 and Riedell make quality safety gear so you could check those.

 If you can't afford all of it at once, I would highly recommend getting the wrist guards and knee pads first.

 Also keep in mind.....you said you want something girly with a lean neat appearance and not bulky?  If you go with something lean and not bulky you may be giving up the quality of the safety gear. The bulk is what protects you.  Depending on what you'll be doing should determine how much protection you will need.  Use your own good judgement and remember, protection is the most important factor.
