Wide Widths

Question
I have a 10.5 EE-EEE shoe, and am looking for inline skates what will fit comfortably.  I really enjoyed playing ice hockey and inline skating years ago, but always had foot pain in regular size skates.  Can you recommend anything specific for my thick feet? I would prefer fitness skates over hockey skates, but can go either way.  Thanks!

Answer
Hi there EEE,
I will pass on the information I was able to gather from my colleagues who fit inlines - I teach inline & quad skating, but I do not sell inlines (quad sales only).
Unfortunately Solomon no longer sells skates to North America they are a European company & they have eliminated their American outlets - that was the skate for wide feet. The recommendations I got were Roller Blade's Crossfire 4D or possibly something in their Lightning series - a bit more  advanced skate with 90 mm wheels. There is not a heck of a lot out there for the Yeti among us since Solomon deserted our shores, I'm sorry to say.
Even in quad skates there is nothing ready made for your size, however with quads we could always trace your foot & have a boot custom fitted to your foot. So, & this is my final answer - a custom boot, a bit pricey & time consuming (4 to 6 week wait), but - you could be fitted for a Riedell  (leather) boot, either the Silver Star, Gold Star or Royal & attach an inline frame. I use the Silver Star with a custom inline frame & I love it - now - but being a stiff boot, there was a not so pleasant break in period, but after that,  you've got a very comfortable pair of skates. I'm sure you were looking for a quicker fix, but EEE ain't easy as you know. I hope you do find the perfect solution!
