Marker jester schizo

Question
I am going to purchase the Volkl Kendo skis and was wondering if it is worth spending the extra money for the Marker jester schizo vs the regular jester binding. Does it really make a difference that you are able to move the binding forward ?

Answer
Hey Greg,

Spending the extra $'s on the Schizo would depend upon you and your type of skiing. If you do a lot of park/freestyle skiing, having the ability to quickly move your bindings forward for a more balanced position, could be an advantage and help your performance in the park. Having the bindings in the aft position would help the skis perform better off the groomed.

I'm not a park rider so not sure how much this would actually help, but the science behind it makes sense. If you are really concerned about the extra $100, then ask yourself a couple of questions. Are you able to do all the park stuff on your current fixed position bindings? Are you able to ski all-mountain comfortably on your current bindings? If yes to both, then will the adjustable position really make that much difference to you and your performance? It could be just a gimmick to sell a more expensive binding, but on the flip side, it may be the hottest new thing in bindings. Being such new technology, there doesn't seem to be any real time results to prove it right or wrong.

Hope this helps.
Keep on skiing,
Windlover
