Answer
Hi Dave! I gleaned some fabulous advice from my excellent technician, Jeff Sadis:

"When mounting bindings into plastic risers I always use a binding glue, usually from Wintersteiger, but any brand will do. Be sure that your holes are properly tapped, and you use the correct screws taking into account the depth of the riser/plate.

When mounting all plates and risers to the ski you must use glue.

For any metal plates, be sure to tap all the holes and use a marine grade grease in each binding hole. This will prevent corrosion and embarrassing binding separation from the ski.

There is really no torque specification we use, even at the world cup level. Just make sure to hand tighten all screws, being careful not to strip them. Check the screws every few times you wax the ski to be sure they are still holding firm."

Hope that helps!
