Question
Hi there, i'm writting from portugal where we have a small ski resort, but on holidays i normally go to Spain or Andorra for a week to ski.
I'am a novice/intermidiate skier, and recently i bought ski boots and im looking for a pair of skis. I normally stay inside the courses and like fast but not very inclined slops, i'm 1.79 cm and have 75 kg. I you could help me in choosing the kind of skis and lenght. thanks

Answer
Dear Adelino --

I recommend, Solomon or Dynastar ski, in a moderate flex with a length to ensure stability, since you like to go quickly.  To help you learn to go to steeper slopes, but stay in control, you want a super-side cut ski that will help you learn to carve when you turn.

The length of the ski that is correct for your height and weight will depend on the brand, style, and flex of your ski.  Today's top skis will allow you to get a shorter ski, and yet still have a very stable ride at speed.  You should have a knowledgeable person in a ski shop help you determine a brand, style and range of lengths correct for you, and then you should rent that ski and demo it before you buy it.

Generally the right ski length will be somewhere from the ground to your chin, but no higher than the ground to the top of your head.

Best of luck to you.
